Are you a Star Wars fan?

The new movie is coming out soon, The Last Jedi.

I love deep movies with strong motifs.
When you listen to interviews with George Lucas, you know exactly how much thought went into the creation of the Star Wars characters and films, and how it explores deep topics that have been discussed throughout ancient mythology, religion, and philosophy.

Here’s a quote that many ideas in the movie will play off of:

“First comes the day
Then comes the night.
After the darkness
Shines through the light.
The difference, they say,
Is only made right
By the resolving of gray
Through refined Jedi sight.”

-Journal of the Whills, 7:477

The underlying theme here is that there probably needs to be somewhat of an accord between the light and the dark side, hence, “the resolving of gray”.

What “through refined Jedi sight” is hinting at, is the idea that you need to be a Jedi (selfless – all good) first, and then you can make peace with the dark side, for the right reasons.

A person who is powerful on the dark side might want to make peace but they’re missing the goodness to do it properly. If they want to make peace, they’re doing it for the wrong reasons – just because they’re in pain. It needs to be deeper than that.

Watch for those themes in the new movie, but most importantly in your life. Get all good! When you get emotionless, then you need to retract a bit to understand why certain things exist.

For example, sexual promiscuity exists. Is it wrong? I’d suggest so, but sex with your wife or your husband is right. Always find why the “dark side” relates to the “light side” and that’s how you break through.
