Intermittent fasting WILL work when you first do it. I can assure you that you will lose weight when you adopt the idea of starving for upwards of 12 hours. However, your body is smarter than you are! Do you think we’ve survived the harsh conditions of Earth by being fragile and wasting away when presented with a new type of stimulus? Your body catches on very quickly. When you skip meals, your body will down-regulate its metabolism and change its’ hormones, as a survival mechanism, to preserve itself.
A proper diet will ensure one thing – A STABILIZATION OF BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS. If you do not do this, you are inviting insulin spikes when you eat, which are not only bad for your waistline but harmful for your health. This can result in one of two things – muscle gain and fat gain. It’s almost always the latter and you also open the door for diabetes. If you want to lose weight (not in a hurry but over the long haul), you must eat frequently.
You can’t hack life! You can’t bypass the most basic foundation of what the world is founded on – that ingraining something as a habit is a process that goes from unconscious incompetence to conscious incompetence to conscious competence to unconscious competence.
Don’t look for shortcuts. Look to be better. That way, your life will be A SHORTCUT!
